After being made redundant, the search began to either find a new job or start my own business. There seemed to be very few jobs out there, so I decided to look at starting a business. But what?

rentandhire.ie : the idea brought to life

We were doing our garden at home and there was a lot of digging, I mean a lot of digging involved and we wondered if could hire out a small digger to do the work. Then the more we thought about it, the more we wondered did we know anyone with a digger? We thought there must be a lot of diggers lying idle now that the construction industry was going through a major downturn. But how could we find them? What if there was a website that allowed people or businesses to advertise items they have for rent. Maybe items that had been up for sale without success and now they would rent them out instead. The rental companies in Ireland, could also use this site to advertise.

We then looked at Services for Hire and where they advertise today. We quickly realised that there was no one place for all services to advertise. You might be getting married and doing up your house at the same time. You might want to organise a grind for your son and dance lessons for your daughter. The one place to find everything you need. So the work began to bring the idea to life.
